Day 1: Nairobi – Cultural & Wildlife Encounters
Your journey starts with a morning pick-up from your hotel in Nairobi. The first stop is the David Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage, where rescued baby elephants are cared for before being released back into the wild. You’ll watch them being bottle-fed and playing in the mud while learning about Kenya’s efforts to protect its elephant population. It’s a touching experience that highlights the importance of conservation.

Next, you’ll visit the Giraffe Centre, where you can interact with the endangered Rothschild giraffe. Here, you’ll get a chance to feed them from a raised platform and learn about the conservation work being done to preserve the species. In the afternoon, you’ll head to the Bomas of Kenya, where you’ll witness traditional homesteads and enjoy cultural performances that showcase Kenya’s rich ethnic diversity. The day ends with a delicious dinner at a local restaurant before returning to your hotel for the night.

Day 2: Nairobi to Amboseli National Park
After breakfast, you’ll depart for Amboseli National Park, a drive of about 4–5 hours through scenic countryside and small towns. Upon arrival, you’ll check in at your lodge and enjoy lunch before heading out for an afternoon game drive. Amboseli is famous for its large elephant herds and stunning views of Mount Kilimanjaro, creating a perfect setting for photography. You’ll also spot lions, cheetahs, zebras, and giraffes roaming the open plains.

In the late afternoon, you’ll visit a Maasai village, where the community will welcome you with traditional songs and dances. You’ll learn about their customs, how they live alongside wildlife, and their famous warrior traditions. Day 3: Amboseli to Lake Naivasha
The day begins with an early morning game drive, taking advantage of the best wildlife activity as the sun rises over Kilimanjaro. After breakfast at the lodge, you’ll set off on a scenic drive to Lake Naivasha, located in the Great Rift Valley. The journey takes about 5–6 hours, with opportunities to enjoy the beautiful landscapes along the way.

In the afternoon, you’ll take a boat safari on Lake Naivasha, gliding past hippos and spotting a variety of bird species, including fish eagles and cormorants. Afterward, you’ll visit Crescent Island, a unique sanctuary where you can take a guided walking safari among zebras, giraffes, and antelopes. This rare experience allows you to walk freely in the wild without fences or barriers. You’ll then check into your lodge for dinner and a peaceful overnight stay by the lake.

Day 4: Lake Naivasha to Maasai Mara National Reserve
After breakfast, you’ll depart for the world-famous Maasai Mara National Reserve, a journey of approximately 5–6 hours. Day 5: Full-Day Safari in Maasai Mara & Maasai Cultural Visit
Today is dedicated to a full-day safari in the Maasai Mara, increasing your chances of witnessing incredible wildlife encounters. You’ll explore different areas of the park, following wildlife movements and possibly spotting a predator hunt in action. If you’re interested, you can start your day with an optional hot air balloon safari, which offers breathtaking aerial views of the Mara at sunrise.

In the afternoon, you’ll visit a Maasai village for a more in-depth cultural experience. You’ll learn about their traditional way of life, the significance of their elaborate beadwork, and their unique housing structures made of mud and straw. The visit concludes with a Maasai warrior dance, where you can join in and experience their traditional jumping competition. After a rewarding day, you’ll return to your lodge or camp for a final night in the Mara.

Day 6: Maasai Mara to Nairobi & Departure
Your final morning begins with a sunrise game drive, offering a last chance to see more wildlife before heading back to Nairobi. After breakfast, you’ll check out and begin the scenic drive back to the capital, arriving in the afternoon. Depending on your flight schedule, you may have time for a short city tour or souvenir shopping before being dropped off at your hotel or the airport, marking the end of an unforgettable safari adventure.

10-Day Ultimate Kenya Safari Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Nairobi
Arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and meet your safari guide. Transfer to your hotel to rest after your journey. Day 5: Lake Naivasha to Lake Nakuru National Park (1.5-2 hours drive)

Day 9: Diani Beach – Kaya Kinondo Cultural Experience
Spend the morning at leisure on Diani’s pristine beaches. In the afternoon, visit Kaya Kinondo Sacred Forest, a UNESCO-listed site of the Mijikenda people. Walk through the ancient forest while learning about their spiritual traditions and indigenous plant medicine.

Day 10: Wasini Island & Kisite Marine Park – Snorkeling & Dolphins
Take a boat trip to Wasini Island & Kisite Mpunguti Marine Park, where you’ll enjoy snorkeling, dolphin spotting, and coral reef exploration. Feast on a Swahili seafood lunch on the island before heading back to Diani.

Day 11: Mombasa – Fort Jesus & Swahili Culture
