6-Day Uganda Safari & Cultural Experience
This 6-day Uganda safari blends wildlife and culture, featuring game drives, boat safaris, and community visits. Track gorillas in Bwindi, spot tree-climbing lions in Queen Elizabeth, and trek chimps in Kalinzu Forest. Enjoy Lake Mburo’s wildlife and a Banyankole cultural experience before returning to Entebbe.
Day 1: Lake Mburo National Park – Game Drive & Banyankole Culture
Depart from your hotel early and drive to Lake Mburo National Park. Stop at the Equator for photos and a brief demonstration. Upon arrival, drive through the park as you head to the lodge to spot zebras, giraffes, elands, buffaloes, and leopards.
After lunch, check into your rooms ,have some rest. Later, visit a Banyankole community to experience Ankole cattle herding, traditional milking, and storytelling about their heritage. Optional night game drive for nocturnal wildlife.
Day 2: Nature Walk & Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Start with a guided nature walk, offering a unique on-foot wildlife experience. After breakfast, transfer to Bwindi, passing through scenic rolling hills and villages.
Reaching late in the evening checking into your lodge and dinner time, relax to prepare for the next day.
Day 3: Gorilla Trekking & Batwa Experience.
After an early breakfast, attend a gorilla trekking briefing and embark on the trek (could take the whole day depending the location of the gorilla family you are trekking). Once you locate the gorillas, spend two unforgettable hours observing them.
In the afternoon, engage in a Batwa cultural experience, where the Batwa pygmies demonstrate their traditional hunting skills, fire-making techniques, and songs.
Day 4: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park via Ishasha Sector
After an early breakfast, drive to Ishasha Sector of Queen Elizabeth NP . Enjoy an evening game drive to search for tree-climbing lions, elephants, and buffaloes.
In the afternoon, take a boat safari on the Kazinga Channel, famous for its high concentration of hippos, elephants, and crocodiles. Enjoy stunning views of the park’s wildlife along the shores.
Day 5: Chimpanzee Trekking & Game drive
After breakfast, head to Kalinzu Forest Reserve for chimpanzee trekking. Along the way, spot other primates like black-and-white colobus monkeys.
After Chimp trekking head off for lunch and game drive in the Kasenyi Plains, known for lions, hyenas, leopards, and large herds of Uganda kob. Afterward,prepare for the picnic inside the National Park.
Day 6: Return to Entebbe/Kampala
After breakfast, drive back to Entebbe/Kampala (6-7 hours) with a stop for lunch along the way. Drop-off at your hotel or airport, marking the end of your safari.

11-Day Uganda Culture & Wildlife Safari
This itinerary takes you through wildlife encounters, cultural experiences, and adventure, starting with Shoebill tracking in Mabamba Swamp and culminating in an unforgettable safari in Murchison Falls National Park. It offers the perfect mix of authentic community visits, thrilling game drives, and primate trekking.
Day 1: Shoebill Tracking in Mabamba Swamp
Upon arrival, you will be met by your guide for a short briefing. Your adventure begins with a transfer to Mabamba Swamp, one of Uganda’s most important birding sites, located on the shores of Lake Victoria. This wetland is home to the rare and prehistoric-looking Shoebill Stork, a must-see for bird lovers.
You will take a canoe ride through the swamp with a local guide, searching for the Shoebill as well as other water birds such as kingfishers, herons, and African jacanas. Afterward, you will return to Entebbe and, if time allows, take a nature walk at the Entebbe Botanical Gardens, a scenic area with a variety of bird species and colobus monkeys.
Day 2: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park & Ankole Cultural Experience
After breakfast, you will begin your journey to Lake Mburo National Park, Uganda’s smallest savannah park. Upon arrival, you will enjoy an afternoon game drive, where you can spot zebras, elands, topis, giraffes, and leopards.
Later in the evening, you will visit a nearby Ankole cattle-keeping community, where you will interact with local herders, learn about the significance of the long-horned Ankole cows, and even try your hand at milking cows the traditional way. You will also taste fresh milk and listen to folklore stories about the Ankole people’s deep connection with their cattle.
Day 3: Cycling Safari & Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
You will start the day with a cycling safari through the rolling savannah plains of Lake Mburo. This unique experience allows you to ride among zebras, antelopes, and buffaloes, giving you a close-up encounter with the wildlife without the noise of a vehicle.
After this adventure, you will set off for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Along the way, admire scenic hills and local villages. Settle in at your lodge, ready for the unforgettable gorilla trekking experience.
Day 4: Gorilla Trekking & Batwa Cultural Experience
Today is the highlight of your trip—gorilla trekking in the dense forests of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. After a briefing from the park rangers, you will hike through the jungle in search of a mountain gorilla family. The trek can take 2 to 6 hours, but the reward is an unforgettable one-hour encounter with these gentle giants.
After the trek, you will visit the Batwa pygmies, the indigenous people who once lived in Bwindi Forest. They will share their traditional hunting techniques, storytelling, and music, offering insight into their ancient way of life.
Day 5: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park via Ishasha Sector & Boat Safari
You will leave Bwindi and drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park, Uganda’s most diverse park. Along the way, you will explore the Ishasha sector, famous for its tree-climbing lions. Unlike regular lions, these big cats rest in fig trees, providing a unique wildlife photography opportunity. In the afternoon, you will take a boat safari on the Kazinga Channel, a waterway that connects Lake Edward and Lake George. This cruise provides an up-close view of hippos, crocodiles, and diverse birdlife.
Day 6: Morning Game Drive & Transfer to Kibale National Park
You will start the day with an early morning game drive in Kasenyi plains, home to elephants, buffaloes, leopards, and lions. Afterward, you will visit Katwe Salt Mining Village, where local people have been harvesting salt from the crater lakes for centuries. Early evening drive to Kibale National Park, on the way have a very scenic views of hills, Mt Rwenzori and Tea Plantations.
Day 7: Chimpanze Trekking & Cultural Heritage Tour
The day begins with chimpanzee trekking in Kibale National Park, the primate capital of the world. You will spend an hour observing playful chimpanzees swinging through the trees
In the afternoon, you go on a guided nature walk in Bigodi Wetland, a community-run initiative that offers birdwatching and primate encounters while supporting conservation efforts.
Day 8: Transfer to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary
Transfer to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, the only place in Uganda where you can track wild rhinos on foot. Arrive in the evenning, settle in and relax for the next day after a long drive.
Day 9: Rhino Tracking & Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park
In the morning, you will set out for rhino tracking on foot with a guide, getting close to these powerful creatures. Afterward, you will drive to Murchison Falls National Park and visit the top of Murchison Falls, where the Nile crashes through a narrow gorge.
Day 10: Game Drive & Nile Boat Safari
You will take an early game drive in the park, spotting lions, elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, and antelopes. In the afternoon, you will take a boat safari to the base of Murchison Falls, observing hippos, crocodiles, and abundant birdlife.
Day 11: Return to Entebbe
After breakfast, you will drive back to Entebbe (5-6 hours), where you will be dropped off for your departure flight.

Upon arrival in Jinja, take a boat ride to the Source of the Nile, where you’ll learn about its history and enjoy breathtaking river views.
Day 2: White-Water Rafting & Sunset Quad Biking
Start the day with an adrenaline-pumping white-water rafting experience, tackling Grade 3–5 rapids with professional guides. If rafting is too extreme, you can opt for kayaking or a boat cruise instead. Later in the afternoon, explore Jinja on a quad biking adventure, riding through scenic villages and farmlands while enjoying the Nile sunset.
Day 3: Jinja to Sipi Falls – Waterfall Hike & Coffee Tour
After breakfast, drive 3–4 hours to Sipi Falls, a spectacular series of three waterfalls on the slopes of Mount Elgon. Take a guided hike to all three waterfalls, stopping at scenic viewpoints to capture breathtaking photos. In the afternoon, visit a local coffee farm, where you’ll learn how the Bagisu people cultivate and process Arabica coffee. Participate in roasting and tasting freshly brewed coffee.
Day 4: Abseiling & Sebei Cultural Experience

Day 7: Karamoja Cultural Experience & Mount Moroto Hike
Spend the morning visiting a Karamojong Manyatta (homestead), where you’ll experience cattle herding, traditional dances, and storytelling from elders. In the afternoon, take a short hike on Mount Moroto, enjoying sweeping views of the Karamoja plains.
Day 8: Moroto to Kidepo Valley National Park – Evening Rest
After breakfast, start a long drive to Kidepo Valley National Park, Uganda’s most remote and scenic safari destination. Due to the long journey, spend the evening resting at the lodge.
Day 9: Full-Day Kidepo Safari & IK Tribe Visit
Start with a sunrise game drive, searching for lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants, and buffaloes.
In the afternoon, embark on a guided hike to visit the IK tribe on Mount Morungole. The IK are one of Uganda’s smallest and most unique ethnic groups, living in isolation from the rest of Karamoja.
Day 10: Kidepo to Gulu (Rest Day)
Since the journey from Kidepo to Murchison Falls is very long, it is best to break it up with an overnight stop in Gulu. After arriving in Gulu town, relax at your hotel or explore the local markets and culture.
Day 11: Gulu to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary – Rhino Tracking
After breakfast, drive to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, the only place in Uganda where you can track wild rhinos on foot. With a professional guide, walk through the bush and observe rhinos from a safe distance. After lunch, continue driving to Murchison Falls National Park.
Day 12: Game Drive & Nile Boat Safari
Start with a sunrise game drive, spotting elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, antelopes, and possibly lions. In the afternoon, embark on a boat safari to the base of Murchison Falls, where you’ll see hippos, crocodiles, and birds up close before reaching the thundering falls.
Day 13: Delta Safari & Top of the Falls Hike
Take a morning boat safari to the Nile Delta, a prime spot for shoebill storks and other rare birds. Later, hike to the Top of Murchison Falls, where you’ll witness the mighty Nile forcing itself through a narrow 7-meter gorge.
Day 14: Murchison to Budongo – Chimpanzee Trekking
Drive to Budongo Forest, home to Uganda’s largest chimpanzee population. Take a guided chimp trekking experience, where you’ll observe these playful primates in their natural habitat.

Alternatively, you can relax by Lake Victoria, watching the sunset while enjoying a delicious dinner.
Day 2: Drive to Lake Mburo National Park – Evening Game Drive
After breakfast, you’ll drive to Lake Mburo National Park, one of Uganda’s smallest yet most diverse parks. After check-in and lunch, you’ll embark on an evening game drive. Unlike other parks, Lake Mburo is home to zebras, giraffes, elands, and impalas, which are not found in some of Uganda’s larger parks. Sunset here is magical, as wildlife becomes more active.
Day 3: Walking Safari – Transfer to Bwindi
After breakfast, Start the day with a walking safari, allowing you to get up close to zebras, warthogs, and antelopes while being guided by an expert ranger. After lunch, begin the 5-6 hour drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to nearly half of the world’s mountain gorillas. You’ll arrive in the evening, check into your lodge, and prepare for the next day’s gorilla trekking.
Day 4: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi – Batwa Cultural Experience
This is the highlight of your trip! After an early breakfast, you’ll head to the park headquarters for a briefing on gorilla trekking. Accompanied by experienced guides, you’ll hike through dense jungle in search of a gorilla family. The trek can take 2 to 6 hours, depending on where the gorillas are that day. Once you find them, you’ll have one magical hour to observe these majestic creatures up close.
After lunch, you’ll visit the Batwa Pygmy community, the original inhabitants of Bwindi. They’ll share their traditional forest survival skills, hunting techniques, and cultural dances, giving your insight into their vanishing way of life.
Day 5: Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park via Ishasha Tree-Climbing Lions& Kazinga Channel Boat Safari
You’ll take a scenic drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park, passing through tea plantations and picturesque rolling hills. In the afternoon, you’ll explore the Ishasha sector, famous for its tree-climbing lions—a rare phenomenon where lions lounge in fig trees.
Reaching in the afternoon checking and head to the boat safari on the Kazinga Channel, a 32km natural waterway connecting Lake George and Lake Edward. On this 2-hour cruise, you’ll witness one of the largest concentrations of hippos in Africa, crocodiles basking on the shores, and a variety of bird species. Elephants often gather here to drink, creating perfect photo opportunities.
Day 6: Morning Game Drive transfer to Kibale National Park
Wake up early for a morning game drive in the Kasenyi Plains, an area rich in wildlife, including lions, leopards, elephants, and Uganda kobs.
After breakfast, taking a 2-3hour drive to Kibale National Park, home to Uganda’s largest population of chimpanzees. Upon arrival, you’ll take an afternoon nature walk through the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, where you might spot red colobus monkeys, blue monkeys, and over 200 bird species.
Day 7: Chimpanzee Trekking in Kibale – Relaxation Afternoon
After an early breakfast, you’ll set off for chimpanzee trekking. Kibale Forest has the highest density of chimps in Africa. As you track them, you’ll also see other primates, including black-and-white colobus monkeys, L’Hoest’s monkeys, and olive baboons.
After spending one hour with the chimps, you’ll return to your lodge for a relaxing afternoon or an optional coffee tour.
Day 8: Transfer to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary – Evening Nature Walk
Depart early for Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary , the only place in Uganda where you can see wild rhinos. After check-in and a break, go on an evening nature walk in the sanctuary’s tranquil bushland — a great way to stretch your legs and look for antelope and birdlife.
Day 9: Rhino Tracking and Transfer to Murchison falls
Today starts on a guided walking safari, tracking the massive white rhinos on foot.the only place in Uganda where you can see rhinos in the wild. Before checking in to your hotel pass via by top of the falls
Day 10: Morning and Afternoon Game Drive with a picnic

Day 11: Nile Boat Safari & Hike to Murchison Falls

Day 12: Transfer to Kidepo Valley National Park – Scenic Journey & Relaxation
Today, you’ll embark on a long but rewarding 7-8-hour journey to Kidepo Valley National Park, Uganda’s most remote and untouched safari destination. The drive takes you through stunning landscapes, including Karamoja’s golden savannahs, rolling hills, and traditional Manyatta homesteads.
Arriving in Kidepo in the late afternoon, you’ll check into your lodge, which offers breathtaking views of the vast plains teeming with wildlife. You can relax and soak in the untouched beauty of this wild paradise as the sun sets over the dramatic landscape.
Day 13: Game Drive in Kidepo & Cultural Visit with the Ik Tribe
Wake up early to experience a morning game drive in Kidepo Valley National Park, often referred to as the “Serengeti of Uganda.” This park is famous for its incredible wildlife diversity and open, unspoiled landscapes. Unlike more crowded parks, Kidepo offers a truly exclusive safari experience.
Your guide will take you through the Narus Valley, one of the best places to see lions, cheetahs, elephants, zebras, large buffalo herds, and even rare ostriches. The drive will take you past seasonal rivers, rocky outcrops, and endless golden grasslands, making it a photographer’s dream.
After the morning safari, you’ll return to your lodge for lunch and a short rest before heading out for a cultural experience with the Ik tribe in the afternoon.
Cultural Visit to the Ik Tribe
The Ik people are one of Uganda’s smallest and most unique ethnic groups, living in the mountains bordering Kenya and South Sudan. To reach their village, you’ll take a short guided hike up the hills.
Upon arrival, you’ll be welcomed with traditional songs and dances, followed by an immersive session where they share stories of their history, survival techniques, and ancient customs. Unlike many tribes, the Ik historically lived as hunter-gatherers and are known for their strong communal living system, which has helped them preserve their unique identity despite outside influences.
After an insightful visit, you’ll hike back down and return to your lodge for dinner and an evening of relaxation under the star-lit African sky.

Day 14: Long Drive to Sipi Falls – Coffee Tour & Relaxation
After breakfast, you’ll leave Kidepo for a 7-8 hour scenic drive to Sipi Falls, located in the foothills of Mount Elgon near the Kenya-Uganda border. This route takes you through the dramatic Karamoja region, known for its rugged mountains and nomadic cattle herders, before transitioning into the lush green landscapes of eastern Uganda.
Upon arrival in Sipi, you’ll check into your lodge, which offers stunning views of the waterfalls and the surrounding countryside. After freshening up, you’ll take part in a coffee tour, since this region is famous for its high-quality Arabica coffee.
Coffee Tour Experience
You’ll visit a local coffee farm and learn how coffee is grown, harvested, processed, and roasted by the local farmers. You’ll even get a chance to roast and grind your own coffee beans, finishing the experience with a fresh cup of locally brewed coffee while overlooking the breathtaking valley.
Afterward, enjoy a relaxing evening at your lodge, listening to the soothing sounds of the waterfalls in the background.
Day 15: Hike to the Three Sipi Falls – Drive to Jinja
After breakfast, you’ll embark on a guided hike to the famous three waterfalls of Sipi Falls, each cascading down the cliffs at different heights (85m, 65m, and 100m).
The hike takes about 2-3 hours, depending on your pace, and leads through lush farmlands, caves, and scenic viewpoints. At the base of each waterfall, you can feel the cool mist as you take in the stunning views of the green valleys below. Your guide will also share insights into the local Bagisu people, their traditions, and their connection to the land.
After the hike, you’ll enjoy lunch before beginning the 3-4 hour drive to Jinja, the adventure capital of East Africa. Along the way, you’ll pass rolling tea plantations, small villages, and the Nile River as it flows from Lake Victoria.
Arriving in Jinja in the evening, you’ll check into your lodge along the Nile, where you can relax and enjoy the peaceful river views.

Day 16: White-Water Rafting on the Nile & Return to Entebbe
Your final day in Uganda begins with an adrenaline-filled adventure on the Nile! After breakfast, you’ll head to the rafting starting point, where professional guides will give you a safety briefing and paddling techniques before hitting the water.
White-Water Rafting on the Nile (Full or Half Day Option)
Full-Day Rafting: Covers 8 major rapids, including exhilarating Grade 4 and 5 rapids, with calm stretches in between to catch your breath and enjoy the stunning river scenery. A delicious riverside lunch is included midway. Half-Day Rafting: A shorter adventure covering 4 major rapids, perfect if you prefer a less intense experience before heading back to Entebbe.
Whichever option you choose, expect heart-pounding moments as you navigate the roaring rapids, along with calm sections where you can float and take in the breathtaking landscape. Keep an eye out for colorful birds, monitor lizards, and even local fishermen in their traditional wooden canoes. After rafting, you’ll have time to freshen up and enjoy a hearty lunch before departing for Entebbe.
Transfer to Entebbe (2.5-hour drive)
Your driver will take you back to Entebbe International Airport, arriving in time for your flight home. If you have extra time, you can stop by a craft market for souvenirs or enjoy a last glimpse of Lake Victoria before checking in for departure.
